Kaiteriteri Webcam

Kaiteriteri has to be one of the South Island's number one beach destinations. Its sand coming from the weathering of granite ground into glittering gold particles. Kaiteriteri is located just 13 km from Motueka, and 5 km from Marahau which is the gateway to Abel Tasman National Park.
Many thanks to

The town has a motor camp, motels, general store and restraurants. There are a number of good walks in the area, starting with the short walk around to little Kaiteri and others including Withell’s Walk, starting behind the campground and Kaka Pah Point Walk, at the end of the beach. They offer a view across the bay that encourages you to go and explore the more secluded coves and hideaways around the coast.

Close by is Abel Tasman National Park, where you can hire a kayak or water taxi and experience the beauty of the area from the sea. Abel Tasman is our most popular national park and the tramping track is one of New Zealand’s Great Walks.

There are a number of other interesting locations to explore in the area. Moving up Takaka Hill leads you to the Ngarua Caves, which are known for their wonderful stalactites and stalagmites. Also Harwood’s Hole off the Canaan Road is worth a look. This is a vertical shaft 183 metres deep.
